The PDL PRO stands out as a high-current, high-resolution digital earth loop impedance tester that guarantees no trip during tests.
Featuring a large backlit display, the Socket & See PDL PRO illuminates upon activation and during testing, facilitating ease of use in dimly lit environments. The device automatically shuts off after about 3 minutes of inactivity. Additionally, a durable protective rubber boot shields the unit from everyday wear and tear. The PDL PRO also boasts full protection against accidental phase to phase connections.
Employing a true impedance technique, this tester precisely measures Prospective Fault Current (PFC) and calculates Prospective Short Circuit (PSC) in case of a short circuit between live conductors.
Socket & See PDL PRO Test Sequences
Loop No Trip L-E This 3-wire test measures Zs in circuits protected by an RCD. Disconnecting non-essential electrical equipment is advisable to minimise RCD tripping due to leakage build-up.
Loop High Current L-E Used for measuring Ze at the distribution board downstream of any RCD or Zs in circuits not protected by an RCD.
High Resolution L-E / L-N The high current tests measure Ze or Zs in circuits without RCD protection, displaying results with 1 mohm resolution.
Hands Free This function, applicable to any loop measurement, begins by selecting the desired loop measurement on the rotary dial and pressing the HANDS FREE button. Once connected with confirmed correct voltage and polarity, the loop test proceeds without needing to press the TEST button.
Volts L-N / L-E / N-E Voltage L-N is the default setting of the tester. Pressing VOLTS LN-LE-NE toggles the voltage display, which can be done before or after conducting the loop test.
PFC / PSC Following a loop test, the calculated PFC and PSC can be displayed by selecting PFC L-E / PSC L-N.
Polarity Test Pad Touching the touchpad area next to the test button should maintain the current indication. If the Voltage / Polarity LED flashes RED with a warning tone upon touching, it indicates a potentially hazardous polarity reversal.
The Socket & See PDL PRO complies fully with BS EN 61010 and BS EN 61557 standards, ensuring EMC compliance as per BS EN 61326.
